here’s a brief synopsis of the film if you haven’t heard about it already:

Kano is a 2014 Taiwanese baseball film directed by Umin Boya and co-produced by Wei Te-Sheng. The film depicts the multiracial Kano baseball team from southern Taiwan overcoming extreme odds to represent the island in the 1931 Japanese High School Baseball Championship at Koshien Stadium, when Taiwan was still under Japanese rule. Performing beyond all expectations, the underdog team advanced to the championship game in the tournament. (Wikipedia)

you can now watch this movie with english subs, following these steps:

1. download the movie via torrent here (chinese subs by default)
2. download the english subs here
3. play the movie with the video program of your choice, then load up the english subtitles. i use the kmplayer and it works perfectly that way, hopefully it works for your program as well. if not, try using the kmplayer.

although not flawless, this is definitely a movie i’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching, and shed light on an important, but perhaps not well-known piece of history of east asian geopolitics, colonialism and baseball. i would strongly recommend fans of baseball anime giving it a shot!
